Dosage and Administration
Most patients who are prescribed Minipress XL (Prazosin) are instructed to dose either 2 or 3 times a day. Dosage usually starts low and is increased by your physician in accordance with your progress. It can be taken with food or on an empty stomach, though dosing with food will help to alleviate any stomach discomfort experienced after dosing. Always consult your physician before you stop taking this medication, as this should always be done under your physician's guidance to help prevent any unsafe adverse effects.
Side effects
Possible side effects when using Minipress XL (Prazosin) include:
Drowsiness
Dizziness
Headaches
Upset stomach
Diarrhea
Vomiting
Constipation
Blurry vision
The following side effects are more serious and should be reported immediately to your physician:
Fainting
Increased urination
Mood changes
Swelling
Edema
Increased heart rate
Painful erection
Prolonged erection (lasting 4 hours or more)
